We are pleased to invite you to attend Driving Sustainable Conversations, a morning seminar analysing social media in the automotive sector; including changes in online buying behaviour, future trends, and current conversations around sustainability.

The event is being held on Tuesday 17 April at The Museum of London.

Auto Address

Beginning with breakfast at 9.30am, there will be a series of four insightful speakers and an interactive panel discussion, concluding with lunch and a chance to discuss the morning's findings. Our panel at the end of the session will be chaired by Al Clarke, Chairman of MIPAA.

Our speakers:

Andy Turton - Global Development Director, TNS Global Automotive Practice

Andy will discuss the changes in online behaviour and the automotive buying cycle, deriving insights from the TNS Digital Life study 2011 and the TAPPS study.

Andy has been an automotive market researcher for the past twenty five years, and has developed and launched several new research approaches. In his role as Global Development Director at TNS, he continues to innovate while also providing insight and guidance to key TNS Automotive clients.

Equally at home with qualitative and quantitative approaches, Andy uses the tools of research to unlock insight; his focus is always on providing clear guidance to clients on the business growth opportunities available to them.

Chas Hallett - Editor-in-chief of What Car?

Chas will discuss how social media and current attitudes towards sustainability affect what he chooses to publish in What Car?.

Chas Hallett is the editor in chief of What Car?, Britain's leading car buyer's guide, a post he's held for eight months. Prior to this he was the editor of Autocar, the leading weekly and the world's oldest car magazine, for five years. In total he has been a motoring journalist for 16 years, covering the global motor industry, and launching two leading websites and, latterly presiding over other digital channels.

Henry Tucker - Director, The Futures Company

Henry will be trend spotting and looking ahead to see some of the key themes that the automotive sector should be planning for, and identifying new sources of growth.

Henry joined The Futures Company from a career in innovation and marketing where he occupied both global and operational roles across multinational businesses. He has a breadth of experience in strategy, innovation development and delivery, and consumer centric idea creation

Henry works extensively in the trends and futures space and works across a range of clients and sectors.  More recently he has been helping clients develop futures thinking into innovation action. Henry has helped organisations including Diageo, Vodafone, GSK, Walmart and JWT.

Simon Hughes - Head of Insight (Automotive), Kantar Media

Simon will be discussing the findings from the Kantar Media analysis of the buzz from the Geneva Motor Show. It will look at attitudes within social media and online towards the environment and sustainability, and the discourse on this topic in both traditional and digital media.

Cars have always featured prominently in Simon's career, starting with a placement at BMW AG in Munich during his European Business degree. Simon joined the then Millward Brown Precis as a graduate and has honed his PR evaluation skills working with an array of household names, such as Audi, Ford, Nissan and Toyota. A keen car enthusiast, Simon takes great enjoyment from helping his clients in the automotive PR arena to shape their communication strategy in an increasingly competitive market.
